Etymology

Drockmill Hill (6″) is Drokemylhyll 1541 Ipm, Drokemorehill 1563DuLa , Dragmerhill , Dragmelhill 1574 SRS 3, 87 and 88, Drockmill c. 1840TA . The first element is probably the word þrocc , 'drain,' 'ditch,' or the like, discussed under Throckmorton (PN Wo 170).
