Etymology

Whitenwick Barn (6″) is Wittyngwyke in 1539, Whittingweeke in 1623 (SRS 14, 107, 109) and probably gave name to Simon de Hwytyngwyke (1296 SR). 'Hwita's wic,' with ing used as a connective element.
