Etymology

Berryfield (6″) appears first as Buryfeldstone (1471Ct ), litell Buryfeld lane (1497Ct ). In 1222 (FF) there is mention also of a Beryhamme in the same district. The former name may be identical with Ham Fm (6″) called le Hame in 1473 (Ct ), v. hamm .
