Etymology

Tisserand (6″) is probably the Tuddestrode mentioned in 1195 (France), the Toddestrode of 1288 (Ass ) and gave name to Richard de Tyddestrode (1327 SR). 'Tydi's marshy land,' v. strod . For epenthetic n in the unstressed syllable cf. Navant Hill supra 112.
