Crumbles Shaw (6″) is Crundel or Crumbel 1869 SAC 21, 31, v. crundel and cf. Crumble Barn (Berks), on þone crundel in BCS 1143. crundel usually denotes a chalk-pit but there is no likelihood of such here.
