Historical Forms

  • Otford al. Otworthes in Ashurst 1625 SRS14,231

Etymology

Otter's Fm (6″) is Otford al. Otworthes in Ashurst (1625 SRS 14, 231). There is no stream here so that Otworth is probably more correct than Otford , unless the name is purely manorial and due to some settler from Otford (K).
