Hockley Lands is Okleylond 1548LRMB , Ockley land 1597 SrWills, 1609LRMB , and is to be associated with Andrew de Ockele (1332 SR) and Hugo de Okkele (t. Ed 3For ), who no doubt came from Ockley infra 208. The name is therefore of manorial origin, the modern h being incorrect.
