Lordshill Common is Lordshill al. Lordeleshill 1565, Lordshill al. Loddeleshill 1589Onslow . We have mention in 1255Ass of a place in the neighbouring parish of Bramley called Loddeleswod , which must contain the same first element, clearly a personal name.
