Etymology

In the same parish, and probably near by, was a lost place Mim feld 675 (13th) BCS 34, mint feld 956 (c. 1250) BCS 955, Myndfeld 1330ChertseyReg , Myndfeldesmed 1340ChertseyB .The first element in both these names is probably OE  minte , 'mint,' with early assimilation of nb to mb , following loss of t , in Mimbridge.
