Etymology

Snoxhall (6″) is Snokeshull (e )1279, 1288, 1325Ass , 1370 AD iii(all p), Snockishull 1413Ct (p), Snokkeshilland 1485Ct , Snockshill 1596 Musters, Snoxall 1789 L and C, Snockshall 1823 G.This is clearly a compound of a personal name Snoc and hyll , hence 'Snoc 's hill.'
