Mellersh's Fm (6″) is Melherse 1199 FF, Melerse 1241Ass (p), Melhersh 1314 Moulton (p), Melersh 1350 SAC xxii, Mellishes al. Broad Stone Farm 1778Loseley , Mellish 1841TA . v. ersc . The first element may be the OE  adjective mǣle , 'spotted, variegated,' discussed in PN D 203, s. n. Meldon.
