Etymology

Westleygreen is Westley Green (1765 R) and is probably identical with Westrichegrene in a perambulation of 1446 (Chertsey). The modern form is corrupt, and the ch of the 15th century spelling is no doubt a transcription error for th , the second element being the OE  riþ, 'streamlet.' The little streamlet here forms for a short distance the western boundary of the parish.
