Halebourne takes its name from le Hale 1319 Pat, Hale 1332 SR (p), and is called Hayleborne t. Eliz Musters, Halebarnes 1609LRMB , Halborne 1593 SAC xix. v. healh . Hale Bourne is properly the local name of a stream, the southern branch of the Bourne, v. supra 4.
