Etymology

Woburn Park. Cf. Woburne brugge 675 (13th) BCS 34, Wobourne t. Hy 3, water called Wobourn 1276 Chertsey, Wobourne 1279Ass (p), Wobourbrigge (sic)1446Chertsey , Oburne Mill 1680 Seller. 'Crooked stream,' v. woh , burna . It is the stream now called simply 'The Bourne,' v. supra 2–3.
