Etymology

Nettle Eyot (lost) is Nettle Eyot c. 1857 SAC i, and is to be identified with Netelyge 675 (13th) BCS 34, Neatel eyghe c. 900 (13th) BCS 563 in the bounds of Chertsey. 'Nettle island,' v. eg , iggoð . It was near Mixnams supra (SAC i).
