Gogmore (6″) is Goghemer (e )slane t. Hy 3, 1377 Chertsey, Gogmereslane 1344 Chertsey. The first element is the dialectal word gog , 'bog, quagmire,' discussed in PN D 380, s. n. Gogland.Hence, 'mere or pool with boggy ground.'
