Crockford Bridge Fm (6″) is Crocford 675 (13th) BCS 34, 1198 Chertsey, 1241Ass et passim , with variant spelling Crokford , Crockeford 1263Ass , Crokfordbrugge 1353 Seld xl, Crackford 1749 B, 1796 Faden. The first element is OE  crocc , 'pot, vessel,' and may have reference to some ford near which these were thrown down.
