Etymology
Botleys and Botley's Park is Botteles 1414 AD iii, Botelese Park 1501, Botlesepark 1525 AD i, Butteleys 1532 AD iii, Bottles 1680 Seller, and is to be associated with Gilbert de Bottele (c. 1306 Chertsey) and John de Botteleye (1313 FF). Possibly 'Botta 's clearing,' v. leah , though it may be a genuine manorial name, the family of Bottele (gh ) having come from Botley (Ha).
