Etymology
Aldhurst Fm is Aldhowse 1448Norfolk , 1597 ib., Aldherst 1622Survey , Alders Farm 1765 R. 'Old house,' with a common corruption (v. Introd. xxv). The present farm is early 16th century (VCH iii, 134), and the epithet must have been given to an earlier building on the site.
