Etymology

Brindley Heath, Brindley Heath 1834 O, with Brindley Pool infra appearing as early as 1708 in the Constables Book ; this is 'the woodland cleared by burning', v. brende 2 , lēah , to which 'heath' has been added.This became the nucleus of a new Civil Parish in 1934.
