Etymology

Allimore Green, Aliasmore 1401StaffAcc , Alley-more -greene 1661 Gnosall ParReg, Allymoor Green 1775 Yates, 1836 O, Allmo (o )re 1695 Morden, 1747 Bowen; the 1401 form is clearly an error, so the usual forms which have persisted seem to be no more than the word alley v. NED, 'path or passage-way through marshy land' v. mōr 1 ; the 1661 spelling is significant.
