Chetal Wood 1561 and Whorrow Field n.d.He says that the wood, “still preserved, oak, a mile in circuit”, was sometimes writtenChetwal, Chittal, Chitto, and that Whorrow was the n. of an open field betweenCream ore farm and the first house on the Whitchurch road. The n. of the open fieldwas “still retained by one or more closes”.
