Etymology

For other instances of this and analogous names v. VEPNs. v. ān .Onehouse Sf appears in an 11th-cent. will, and Onehouse Ch has 12th and 13th-cent. forms, so the Sa name may also be ancient. Dodgson (PN Ch 1140) suggests an OE  appellative comparable to ānseld and ānsetl with ān perhaps meaning 'isolated'.
