Etymology

Colehurst Manor (SJ 661313). This name is discussed in Part 1.Identification of Colehurst with DB Corselle and 13th-cent. forms such as Coleshasel supersedes an earlier one with Cross Hills in Hinstock. The name means 'Col's hazel clump'.
