Castle Pulverbatch
Major Settlement in the Parish of Church Pulverbatch
Etymology
The castle is an impressive motte and bailey. VCH VIII131 says it was still occupied in 1205, but was not regarded as a manor house in 1292. The village has obviously been laid out at the foot of the castle.
