Etymology

'Wood or clearing in a valley', v. cumb , lēah . The feature designated cumb is the gap between The Lawley and Caer Caradoc: it is not, strictly speaking, cumb-shaped, but it is broad and flat-bottomed, and probably too open to be a hop .
