Etymology

Horsendon Hill is Horsend 'c. 1145 (c. 1200) et freq to c. 1200 Thame, Horsendune c. 1205 Thame, Horsedune c. 1250 Thame, Horsingdone c. 1300 Thame, Horsyngdonhill 14th Thame. Possibly named from Horsendon in Bk (PN Bk 169), less than six miles away, or perhaps another 'Horsa 's hill.' v. dūn . The name occurs also in Mx (PN Mx 34).
