Etymology

Showell Covert (6″). Cf. Seuelle c. 1210Bodl , Seuewellestlade c. 1210, c. 1240 Os, Sewelle late 13th Os. 'Seven springs,' identical with Showell Fm in Little Tew 291. The final element of Seuewellestlade is (ge)lād, 'track, watercourse.'
