Kingwood Common takes name from Kingeswode 1275–6 RH, Kingeswod 1278–9 RH (p), Kynggeswode 1318–19 AD, Highe Kingewood 1618 Pearman. In the first reference it is said to be “boscum de dominico Regis.”
