Etymology

The Grove (6″) is Curtlicgraue 1137 (c. 1200) Thame, la Graua c. 1200(p), early 13thSt John , Graua c. 1220–8 (c. 1425) Frid (p), la Graue c. 1230St John (p), Grauam c. 1275 Frid, la Grave 1278–9 RH (p). 'Kirtlington grove' in the first form, later simply 'the grove,' v. grāf(a).
