Etymology

Wroxhills Wood (6″) takes name from Wroxale 1349 Gor, Wroxhale 1354 Gor (p). Cf. Wroxfoldes pece t. Hy 8Valor . Identical with Wroxall Wa: v. PN Wa 229 and cf. Wroxton 409. The second element is h(e)alh, and the first 'buzzard.'
