Etymology

Rye Fm is la Rye 1375–6, 1377, 1440–1 ObAcc, la Reye 1383–4 ObAcc, Rivy Fm 1822 O.S. Identical with Rye PN Sx 536, from a misdivision of OE  æt þǣre īege , 'at the island.' The farm is on Andersey Island.
