Etymology

'Brook farm,' v. broc , tun . Cf. Broughton (PN Nth 123).Upper to distinguish from Nether Broughton just across the Leicestershire border. Alfred de Sulenie held the manor in 1205 (ClR). Hence Sulney Fields (6″).
