Wensor Bridge is Wendelforthbrigge 1330Ass , pontem de Wendlesford t. Ed 3Add , causies of Wendlesford 1351 Pat, Wensor Bridge 1775 C. Probably 'Wendel 's or Wændel 's ford,' cf. Wensdon (PN BedsHu 114), Wandsworth (PN Sr 36). The modern form is corrupt.
