Etymology

This name seems to be identical with Boughton (PN Nth 133). The first element is not OE  boc, 'beech' but bucc , 'buck' or bucca , 'he-goat,' or else a personal name Bucca . The second element is tun . It is near Bilhaugh infra 76.
