Wilby Thorp (lost) is Wylebythorp 1251 Misc, Wylughby thorp 1317Ass . thorp probably has here the meaning of 'outlying or detached hamlet,' v. þorp . The site may be identical with that of the present Wilby Hall, which is situated in a remote part of the parish.
