Etymology

Hobberill Fm is Hoberhul n.d. AD iii, Hobber Hill 1838Survey .This is almost certainly a triple compound of holh, beorg and hyll , hence, 'hollow-hill hill.' The farm lies in a well-marked hollow in the side of the hill. Cf. a similar pleonastic name in Hoborough Hill infra 65.
