Etymology

v. Weedon Beck supra 30. The manor was the head of the Pinkney Honour. South in contrast to Weedon Beck. Bridges (i, 254) says there is a well at the west end of Weston in Weedon, sometimes called 'St Loys' or 'St Lewis,' and that hence the village is sometimes called 'Loys' Wedon' or 'Wedon St Lewis.'According to Morton (283) it specially cured the blind and leprous.
