Etymology

'Wyrma 's farm,' v. ingtun . Cf. Worminghall (PN Bk 129), Warminghurst (PN Sx 182), Wornditch (PN BedsHu 245), and Wormegay (Nf), DBWermegeia . The persistent early forms in Werm -, Warm - are a little surprising, but have their parallel in a smaller degree in the other names quoted.
