Sibberton Lodge is Siberton 1189 (1332) Chet freq to 1428 FA with variant spelling Syberton , Sibbeton 1203FF , Sibirton 1254For , Syburton 1345For . 'Sigeberht 's farm,' v. ingtun . The earliest form is probably a reduction of Sigeberhtingtun . Cf. Sibbertoft supra 121.
