Brownswood Cottage (6″) is Brownsworth Green 1649Depositions , Browneswood gre (e )ne 1650ParlSurv , 1672LRMB .The first form, combined with other evidence (v. supra 101 n.) suggests that this is the branteswyrð of BCS 712, with later pseudo-etymological corruption. For the pers. name Brant involved, cf. Braunston supra 14 and v. worð .
