Barby Nortoft [nɔˑtət] is Nortoft 1247Ass , 1514FF , Northtoft 1330 QW. 'The north topt.' Identical with Nortoft infra 71. In 1826 (G) this name appears in the curious form Naughthut , clearly put down on oral authority. 'Barby' to distinguish from Nortoft infra 71. It is just on the boundary between Kilsby and Barby.
