Frisby Lodge

Early-attested site in the Parish of Harrowden, Great and Little

Etymology

Frisby Lodge (6″). In 1282 (Cl) the sheriff of Northamptonshire was ordered to deliver Robert de Harewedon, imprisoned at Northampton for the death of Richard Page of Friseby , in bail to six men who shall mainpern to have him before the king at Worcester at Whitsunday next. This name is probably manorial rather than local in origin, Richard Page having come perhaps from Frisby in Leicestershire.
