Etymology

'North farm,' v. tun . It lies north-west of Towcester. Henry Grene , Knight, held the manor jointly with Thomas his son in 1369 (Cl), and the association of the family continued for many generations. Davye may have reference to the holding of the manor in the 13th cent, by David , son of Griffin (Bridges i, 239).
