Etymology

Calender Fm (6″) is lands called Kalendre 1541 LP. Bridges (i, 557) says that Kalender is named from Kaylendin the meadowland of Cottesbrooke, given to the abbot and convent of Sulby, who placed here a cell. The form Kaylend cannot be explained and looks unlikely.
