Potcote and Potcote Fm is Potcote 1202 Ass (p)et freq to 1317Ass , Potecote c. 1220Magd (p), 1304 Ipm, 1397 Cl, Potekote 1316 FA, Patkote juxta Hecham 1285Ass , Pottecote 1359 Ipm.Potcote Fm is probably the older settlement. It lies in a well- marked hollow and the whole name may well mean 'cottages in a pot or depression.'
