Etymology

Spella Ho is Spelloe 1759EnclA , Spellow c. 1825 O.S. This name is probably identical in origin with that of Speller Fm and Spelhoe Hundred infra 78, 131. The house stands on a prominent hill, near the Three Shire Stones where Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire meet. This is so named in 1779 (F).
