Etymology

'Skrauti's '. Skrauti 'a showy, magnificent person, one who is fond of display' is evidenced as an OWScand pers.n. (v. Lindkvist 164); it has also been found on a Danish rune stone (aft skrauta on the Älleköpinge stone); v. Feilitzen 366, Sandred 1988: 17, Insley 336 f. The parish church of Scratby All Saints was demolished in 1548 and the parish united to that of Ormesby (v. EAA 51: 54, 161).
