Etymology

Lose Hall (lost), cf. Stephen de Lose 1228 FF, Thos. de Lose 1257Ass , Rich. de Lose 1269ib , Edmund de Lose 1328 Pat, Losthalle 1346 FA; v. hlōse 'pig-sty, shelter' and Loose K. The manor-house was demolished in Blomefield's time (Blomefield IX393).
