Etymology

Eastcote is Estcotte 1248 Select Pleas, Estcote 1296 ib., 1323 AD iv, Ascote 1356 Works, 1593 N, 1710 S, Astcote 1435MinAcct , Eastcote 1819 G. 'East cot(e).' The hamlet lay to the east of Ruislip. There was also a Ruislip Westcott (1780 MxNQ i).
